Trademark Law School Clinic Certification Pilot Program Expands
The United States Patent and Trademark Office are now accepting admittance to 15 additional schools for the Fall 2012 Trademark Law School Clinic Certification Pilot Program. This program allows students to have some practice in trademark law before the agency with a law school faculty member’s guidance.
By expanding this pilot program, more law students will be provided with the necessary tools and real world experience needed to approach trademark law. There are many complexities in trademark law, so applying lessons in real life situations is extremely beneficial to those participating in the program. Students in this program can expect to draft and file an application for a trademark and respond to and Office Action.
This pilot program began with 6 schools and will have now expanded to more than 25 participating schools since 2008. Submissions from interested law schools are being accepted through July 2, 2012.
